Paneer bhurji aka cottage cheese bhurji is a popular North Indian dish. It is made of paneer, herbs and spice powders. It can be had with roti, paratha, bread, pav, puri, chapati or as a side in a meal. Paneer bhurji can also be used as a stuffing in kathi rolls, sadwiches and bread rolls.

Ingredients

  • 200 grams (crumbled Panner)
  • 1 finely chopped onion
  • 2 finely chopped green chillies
  • 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
  • 1 and 1/2 finely chopped tomato
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds (Jeera)
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder (Haldi)
  • 3 teaspoon red chilli powder or as per your taste
  • salt to taste
  • 1 and 1/2 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  • Heat a tablespoon of butter in a heavy bottomed pan; add the cumin seeds, onions, green chillies and gg paste. Saute the onions on low to medium heat until they are soft and tender.
  • Once the onions are soft and golden brown add tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and give it a good stir.
  • Cook the onion tomato mixture till all masalas leave the oil. After that add crumbled paneer and also add salt to taste and give a nice mix.
  • Cook the bhurji for 1 minutes on medium flame, thenafter serve panner bhurji with pav or paratha.
