Kande Pohe is a most traditional, popular snack from Maharashtra. made from beaten rice or flattened rice which is light, yet healthy and flavorful :) In-fact it's one of Nagpur's popular street food known as Chana Poha or Tarri Poha (as Served with chana Gravy ).

Ingredients

  • 2-3 bowl Poha (beaten rice)
  • 1/2 cup green peas (optional) / peanuts
  • 2-3 chopped green chillies
  • 1/2 tbsp cumin
  • 1/2 tbsp mustard seeds
  • 1/4 tbsp turmeric
  • Salt (as needed)
  • 1 cup coriander leaves
  • 5-6 curry leaves
  • 1-2 chopped Spring onion/ onion
  • 1/2 chopped potato (thin sliced)
  • Vegetable oil.

Instructions

  • Wash poha 2 times under water and drain out water. Keep it aside.
  • Heat pan and add 3-4 tbsp oil or as required and let it heat.
  • If you are using peanuts then you can just add it now to oil or you can take out fried peanuts and add it later.
  • Add cumin , mustard seeds, curry leaves and chopped green chillies.
  • After that add chopped onion and potatoes. If you are using green peas you can add it now. Let it cook for a min.
  • Add pinch of turmeric and Salt as needed.
  • Add soaked poha into pan, mix it well with all ingredients on a low flame.
  • Cover it for sometime to get it more soft and can off the flame now.
  • Garnish poha with Chopped coriander. (optional : You can garnish it with coconut crush /Shev also)
  • You can Spread lemon juice also over it while having it.
  • Yummy delicious Poha is ready to have.. :)
