Sabudana khichdi with curd for upvas

  • 1 table spoon cooking oil
  • 2 whole boiled potatoes
  • 2 whole chillies
  • 1 bowl groundnut grinded
  • 1 bowl sabudana


  • In a bowl add sabudana and water. Let it remain for 7-8 hours.
  • After the sabudana has absorbed all the water we are ready to cook it.
  • Take 2 whole potatoes and boil them.
  • Then cut them into medium size pieces.
  • Chop the chillies
  • In a vessel add one table spoon of cooking oil/ghee and let it heat
  • Once the oil is heated, add the chopped chillies and potato pieces to the vessel.
  • Stir the mixture and then add sabudana to it.
  • After that add the salt and grinded groundnut powder to it.
  • Shake the mixture well un-till the color of the sabudana turns a slight brownish.
  • Allow it to heat on a low flame for 5min with the top of the vessel closed with a lid/plate.
  • You can add lime juice to it or some spicy chips to taste better.
